AMMONIA REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN
Seattle Refrigeration Co. located in Washington State, has positions available for experienced Ammonia Refrigeration Technician and Ultra-low Technician.
Qualified candidates will work with a variety of refrigeration systems at client sites and will be involved with performing preventive maintenance, new system start ups, and trouble shooting system problems.
Successful candidates should have a stable work record, possess a positive attitude, be a team player, adaptive to flexible schedules able to work overtime and weekends when necessary, and capable of performing in a fast-paced environment with a “make it happen” attitude.

Industrial Refrigeration Requirements:
- Must be a skilled trades journeyman or have equivalent background

- 5+ years experience with Industrial Refrigeration and Freezing Systems.
- Ability to perform preventative tasks on air compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and plant utilities.
- Understanding and troubleshooting of PLCs, may perform minor programming.
- Must possess or be willing to acquire OSHA HAZWOPER certification. (training provided by the company)
Ultra-low Requirements:
- Ability to services ultra-low temperature freezers (-80°C to -150°C), red cell & blood plasma freezers, cryobaths, CO2 incubators, cryostats, and lyophilizers to various types of environmental chambers, centrifuges, tissue processors, and spectrophotometers.
- Install CO2 and LN2 backup systems, equipment monitoring / alarm systems, and voltage regulators.
Both Positions Requirements:
- Ability to complete installation and start-up of environmental rooms, walk-in refrigerators, and freezers.
(Electrical safety certifications – such as current leakage, ground load integrity, and receptacle integrity verification – are also available.)
- Good computer skills and knowledge of PLC’s.
- Must have functioning knowledge of motor controls and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Must have good written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, scaffolds, access rooftops, enter restricted areas (air handlers, ducts, and confined spaces) for first hand observation or inspection.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Mechanical Engineer (Industrial refrigeration) Job Opening
Seattle Refrigeration Co. is a full service mechanical contractor that specializes in the Industrial Refrigeration field. SRC is well positioned to service the Northwest along with the global market. We are currently seeking to fill Mechanical Engineer (Refrigeration) in the companies design / sales department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates with customers to design and estimating of Industrial Refrigeration system projects, will be called upon to create pre-bid concept drawings and some basic structural drawings.

- Prepares or directs thermal calculations, mass flow analysis, component selection, and system design for the development of refrigeration systems in new and existing products. This includes construction and testing of prototype components to evaluate design concepts and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinates the design and delivery of components from suppliers.
- Design products and processes for Manufacturability and Assembly utilizing Demand Flow Technology philosophies.
- Prepares sufficient documentation to implement product designs into manufacturing within the time and budget constraints of the project and in compliance with ISO 9001 and FDA guidelines.
- Stays abreast of new technologies and materials relevant to his/her field of expertise.
Other Job Requirements:
- Heat transfer expertise including theoretical thermal modeling.

- Overall Refrigeration design experience - Preferred experience in refrigeration controls and selection and evaluation of components including sizing of capillary tubes.
- Experienced in preparing heat load calculations and use of Pressure-Enthalpy diagrams and other Thermophysical Properties of Refrigerants. Preferred experience with multiple refrigerants.
- Must have strong written and verbal communications skills (English).
- Sense of ownership and urgency with projects and work assignments.
- Willingness and ability to work in a cross functional team environment with successful experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with preferred experience in analyzing and optimizing empirical data for refrigeration systems.
- Preferred compressor applications experience including variable speed compressors.
- Intimate working knowledge of document and process control. Designing the controls and understanding of PLC s, programming.
- Ability to integrate global standards and regulations into design. Experience creating designs that will be produced in multiple global manufacturing sites a plus.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary
- Some travel is required
